DAVID 'HONEYBOY' EDWARDS WINS A GRAMMY

Earwig artist David "Honeyboy" Edwards has won a Grammy in the category of Best Traditional Blues Album for the album "Last of the Great Mississippi Delta Bluesmen: Live in Dallas!," which also featured Pinetop Perkins and the late legends Robert Lockwood Jr., and Henry Townsend.

NEW ALBUM BY DAVID 'HONEYBOY' EDWARDS TO BE RELEASE FEB. 19

Earwig Music is releasing a new album by David 'Honeyboy' Edwards, scheduled for release on Tuesday, February 19th, and being distributed by Burnside Distribution. It is available now in our online store. 

Harkening back to the golden ear of pre-WWII blues, when Honeyboy and the greatest Delta harmonica players gigged together, before any of them had recorded or gained notoriety.

Featuring Honeyboy's old school guitar and vocals - fresh takes on old gems and first time release of historic recordings. New 2007 sessions with harmonica greats Bobby Rush, Billy Branch and Johnny "Yard Dog" Jones, previously unreleased 1975 studio recordings of Honeyboy and Big Walter Horton, and circa 1976 concert tracks --solo and with Sugar Blue.

Michael Frank, Paul Kaye, Rick Sherry and Kenny Smith also play on the album on various tracks. Honeyboy and Bobby Rush also tell some short blues tales.

Earwig Music and Big CIty Blues Magazine present David "Honeyboy" Edwards for an early 92nd birthday party at Chicago's Hideout Inn, on Friday, June 8th at 10pm. Honeyboy will be performing a set with Billy Branch, and there will be many special guests performing as well, including Steve Arvey, Rick Sherry, Char Baby, Rob Stone & the C-Notes, and Larry Taylor.

LIZ MANDVILLE CHICAGO BLUES FEST AFTER PARTY (SATURDAY, JUNE 9th 10:30pm)

Chicago's celebrated house-rockin' soul-blues diva &  her funky band the Blue Points will be hosting an after party at the Taste Entertainment Center on 6331 South Lowe Ave (6 blocks west of Michigan Ave.) Entertainment will include Liz Mandville & the Blue Points alternating with a piano showdown featuring Aaron Moore, Barrelhouse Chuck, and Lance Camaron.

If enough interest is gathered, Earwig will be offering a school bus shuttle to take fans from the Grant Park area to the Taste Entertainment Center and back. This can only be offered if enough people are interested, and would cost $5-10 a person round-trip.
