Bobby Lee Rodgers spent the better part of a decade releasing four albums and touring the globe with his band, The Codetalkers. In early 2009, Bobby Lee decided that his music had moved to the point that it was no longer represented by The Codetalkers name, a band that he started in Atlanta with Colonel Bruce Hampton, so Bobby began touring under his own name.
Following a tour with Jeff Sipe (Aquairium Rescue Unit, Leftover Salmon) Bobby Lee Rodgers and Friends performed a pair of sold out shows at the world-renowned Savannah Music Festival. He was joined by Marcus Williams (Fiji Mariners) on drums, Ike Stubblefield on the Hammond B-3 organ, Shannon Hoover (Jonathan Scales Fourchestra) on bass, and Joe Craven (Jerry Garcia) on fiddle and percussion. This lead to a knockout performance at the Wanee Festival, which included a trio comprised of Rodgers, Stubblefield and Williams.
Rest assured, no matter who Bobby Lee brings along on the road, you are guaranteed to hear great music from some of the finest musicians today. Throughout his career one thing has been a constant: his songs. With a catalog of hundreds of engaging tunes, Bobby Lee displays his skills as a seasoned performed, an accomplished songwriter, and an educated musician.
